This Rustic scarf is handwoven on my Rigid Heddle Loom in my home studio in Nova Scotia, Canada.
All the yarns in this woven scarf are handwoven by me on my Spinning wheel, after I dyed the fibres.
A lot of time and care went into creating this item for you to enjoy.
This scarf measures approximately 6 1/2" X 71" not including the fringes. (about 16.5 cm x 1.8 metres). There is a maker's tag sewn into one corner of the scarf. The width does vary from one part of the scarf to another as very different types of yarns were used in this project.
The warp (lengthwise and fringes) is 100% Wool Handspun yarn. The weft (or weave, back and forth) is also mostly 100% wool handspun as well as some mohair. This scarf is very "rustic" and earthy.
Care Instructions: Wash gently in tepid water and gentle soap, roll gently in towel to absorb the water, then lay flat to dry. Never put this in a washing machine or dryer and do not wring in order to keep it looking beautiful for many years.
