About Art-by-Ana

My name is Ana and I'm the owner and maker behind Art-by-Ana.  We are located in North Bay, Ontario,  Canada.

Welcome, and thank you for stopping by my shop.  

I started out as an Indie Dyer and bag maker many, many moons ago.   I had a two year break, and now I'm back in the dye pots.  I didn't realize how much I had missed it.   I continue to dye mostly spinning fibres and some yarns.  I'm a bit obsessed with fibre and colour.  In addition, I use my hand dyed fibres and other sourced fibres, to card up beautiful batts for spinners and fibre artists.
I also sew, spin, weave, hook, knit, paint and anything else creative. In this shop, you'll find spinning and knitting supplies and all sorts of handmade goodies, each made with great care from the best supplies I can source.

Why "Art-by-Ana"?
The name of my business comes from the person who supports and encourages me in every way. My husband's name is Arthur (Art), and that is where I came up with the name, "Art-by-Ana", because he is always beside me through it all. It just made sense and I loved the play on words.

I am a home-based business located in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. My business is keeping me busier than expected but I enjoy the stay-at-home lifestyle, which has enabled me to pursue my other interests, such as gardening, fishing, camping, painting, quilting and renovating. We are empty nesters and grandparents. We also have one very adorable rescue dog, Merlin.

I’m happiest when I get lost in what I do. Being creative, working with colour and fibres and sharing these passions with others is what Art-by-Ana is all about.
